Why I like playing with the ESO

There are many things that I like about playing with the ESO but the two most important are the orchestra’s commitment to remaining a community orchestra and Maestro Eckerling’s programming. I enjoy the challenges that the music presents and our conductor’s willingness to play both little-known and very well-known repertoire. It is very rewarding to play this music with such a dedicated and capable group of amateur musicians who clearly love what they are doing.

Favorite composer or piece

I don’t really have one favorite, but if I absolutely had to choose one, it would be the Brahms Double Concerto.

I retired from a 26-year teaching career in June and now have time to play chamber music, read lots of books,do needlework, bake, and exercise. I also enjoy the time I spend with my grandchildren Talia (age 4) and Maya (age 2).
