Most memorable performance with the ESO

Mahler 1st Symphony

Favorite ESO soloist

Aside from my obvious bias towards the string soloists, I do love the Lincoln Trio.

Why I like playing with the ESO

We all come from different walks of life but join together for the love of music and to keep our musical skills growing. It has been wonderful to see the level of our playing continue to improve under Maestro Eckerling.

Favorite composer or piece

I love Brahms’ 4th Symphony and Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony. Both have challenging and melodic parts for the viola section instead of the dreaded off beats we often play for pages and pages.

When I’m not playing with the ESO, I’m…

Spending time with my husband and twin 17-year-olds. Working as a bereavement specialist at an agency and as a psychotherapist in private practice. At the synagogue, singing with the choir and serving on the board. At home, I love entertaining friends and family and working in the garden.

Something most people don’t know about me

My children Alex and Lauren have attended the ESO concerts since they were four years old and have rarely missed one in all these years. Some years were easier to get them there than others. This past year I was contemplating taking a leave of absence from the orchestra, since it would be their last year home before they head off to college. When I mentioned this to my kids, their response was “Mom, you can’t do that; it’s our last year!” You just never realize the impact on your children of what you do.
