Wendy Warner and Irina Muresanu Highlight Evanston Symphony Orchestra Brahms and Dvořák Doubled Concert
May 13, 2016, Evanston, IL — Audience favorites Wendy Warner (cello) and Irina Muresanu (violin) will play as duo-soloists with the Evanston Symphony Orchestra in the “Double” Concerto of Johannes Brahms on Sunday June 5, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall in Evanston. Both world-class artists have delighted ESO audiences previously, but have not appeared here together. Conducted by Music Director Lawrence Eckerling and titled “Brahms and Dvořák Doubled”, the concert features both the serious and the lighter sides of both composers with a Brahms Hungarian Dance and a Dvořák Slavonic Dance as contrasts to the Brahms “Double” Concerto and the epic Seventh Symphony of Dvořák. A special arrangement of another Slavonic Dance for violin, cello and orchestra will round out the program.
