Special Musical Insights for Young Persons’ Concert

Special Musical Insights for Young Persons’ Concert

March 6, Wednesday, at 1:30 pm
Note special day

MI

Enhance your concert experience with a sneak preview — Composers come alive and their passions take center stage when ESO Maestro Lawrence Eckerling takes you on an insider’s tour of the history and highlights behind the music.

We’ll be holding a special Musical Insights event on Wed., March 6th at 1:30 at The Merion. Note this is not our normal day of Friday.

We’ll be showing the documentary The Last Repair Shop, which has already won many awards for best short documentary and is nominated for an academy award. It’s about a service in LA where students are given instruments and they are repaired for free. It really shows the power of music and learning an instrument… to heal, to help people grow, to connect to one another. It relates to our Young Persons’ Concert and Music in Your World Programs. Maestro Lawrence Eckerling will introduce the program, and Alyson Berger from School District 65 will speak about the value of the Young Persons’ Concert. We expect a brief performance from students in D65 or D202 who have participated in the Young Persons’ Concert. As always, the program will last an hour and be free and open to the public.
