Santa's Coming to ETHS!

BREAKING NEWS: We caught up with Santa at his North Pole workshop, preparing for Christmas. But he was happy to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule to talk to us about this year’s Evanston Symphony Holiday Concert.

“Ho, ho, ho. It’s that time of year again, folks. And one of the great pleasures of the holiday season is the Evanston Symphony’s annual Holiday Concert, which will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Evanston Township High School.

“I see Maestro Eckerling is planning another great program. There are some holiday classics like selected dances from Duke Ellington’s really cool, jazzy version of the Nutcracker Suite and Sleigh Ride, plus some wonderful holiday numbers including your favorite carols and Handel’s "Hallelujah Chorus" from Messiah

“Another great feature is the appearance of arts groups like the North Shore Choral Society, Evanston Dance Ensemble, and Chicago Ballet Arts. And I am looking forward to hearing the Evanston Holiday Concert Gospel Choir in an arrangement of Oh What a Pretty Little Baby. That makes this one of the funnest and most family- and community-oriented events of the year.

“And best of all, for me, is that I’ll be coming down from the North Pole and bringing my reindeer who have been practicing their tap-dancing all the way through COVID lockdowns. I’m hoping to convince the Maestro to let them dance for you.

“So, for a rousing good time, and a great way to usher in the holiday season, I hope you all plan to meet me at the Evanston Symphony Holiday Concert!”
