Charlotte Hadley – Violin – 15 Seasons

“Day Job”: A professional volunteer for many years, giving hours of time to the Art Institute of Chicago, presenting PowerPoint programs of art to seniors who are unable to get to the Art Institute. We travel to senior communities, churches, senior centers, anywhere with senior clientele. I am also involved at Ravinia, giving sculpture tours and serving on the Board of the Ravinia Steans Music Institute.

Most memorable performance with ESO: Playing the music of Joan Tower, the chosen composer for the Ford “Made in America” competition. Each state in the U.S. was to choose one community orchestra to play the piece within a certain period. ESO was the Illinois choice!

What are you pleased to have accomplished during your time staying at home? Being outside taking my daily walks has helped me not feeling shut-in. I have had many Zoom meetings involving the Art Institute and Ravinia. I finally completed going through all my slides and they are ready for digitalizing. And I look forward to resuming rehearsals with the ESO!
