Dance into the Holiday Season with Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite

Watch the holiday classic of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker come to life when the Evanston Symphony Orchestra joins forces with the Evanston Dance Ensemble. Not only is The Nutcracker one of the most popular ballets, but it is often performed during the holiday season due to its Christmastime setting. In fact, its music is often an introduction to classical music for audiences of all ages.

Selections from The Nutcracker to be performed by are: March of the Toy Soldiers, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Chocolate (Spanish Dance), Cossack (Russian) Dance, Tea (Chinese Dance), Dance of the Reed Pipes, and Waltz of the Flowers.

Other pieces on the program include Sleigh Ride, Believe (from The Polar Express), and many more holiday favorites. The Evanston Symphony Orchestra and Evanston Dance Ensemble will once again be joined by the Evanston Children’s Choir, North Shore Choral Society, and the Evanston Symphony Holiday Gospel Choir.
